Eisenhower proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 34) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 14-13 win over the Northwestern Wildcats. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 32-14 loss the last time these two teams met.

Eisenhower was led to victory by Caleb Jakubczak and Logan Penley. Jakubczak rushed for 131 yards and one TD while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, while Penley rushed for 100 yards. That's the most rushing yards Penley has posted since back in October of 2024.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Eisenhower was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 247 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 168 rushing yards in eight consecutive games dating back to last season.

Northwestern's loss came despite strong showings from Reese Gonzales and Braden Swift. Gonzales picked up 44 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while Swift threw for 89 yards and two touchdowns.

Eisenhower's record is now 3-1. As for Northwestern, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Eisenhower wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 33-8 victory against Cochranton on the 19th. As for Northwestern, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 28-14 defeat against Conneaut Area on the 19th.
