The Spartanburg Vikings are taking a road trip to take on the Chapman Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Spartanburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.

Spartanburg is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dorman. The matchup marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Madi House was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Chapman beat Mountain View Prep 6-2 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Alexis Floyd spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kenslie Edwards, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Rylan Ivey was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 4-3. As for Chapman, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Spartanburg hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. However, it's not like Chapman struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Spartanburg was able to grind out a solid win over Chapman when the teams last played back in February, winning 7-4. Will Spartanburg repeat their success, or does Chapman has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
