Soccer Game Preview: Riverdale vs. Rockvale

For the first time this season, Riverdale will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Thursday. They will face off against Rockvale at 6:30 p.m. Riverdale is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Riverdale made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Battle Ground Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Riverdale put the hurt on Battle Ground Academy with a sharp 6-1 win on Tuesday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Battle Ground Academy from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Khalil Arman led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rockvale). Their defense stepped up to hand Central Magnet a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Rockvale was the better team in the second half.

The victory got Rockvale back to even at 2-2. As for Riverdale, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Riverdale couldn't quite get it done against Rockvale in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can Riverdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
