Volleyball Game Preview: Capistrano Valley Cougars vs. Aliso Niguel Wolverines

Capistrano Valley hasn't had much luck against Aliso Niguel recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Capistrano Valley Cougars will take on the Aliso Niguel Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Capistrano Valley came up short against Trabuco Hills on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Aliso Niguel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to JSerra Catholic.

Aliso Niguel was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-16, 25-20.

Capistrano Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Aliso Niguel, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Capistrano Valley suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Aliso Niguel in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Capistrano Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
