Desert Hot Springs extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 3-12 in the process. They lost 18-11 to the Cathedral City Lions. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lions this season, with their most recent loss being a 10-0 defeat back in April.

As for Cathedral City, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-13 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

For Cathedral City's part, Sayuri Toledo made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over 4.1 innings pitched. Toledo has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
