After losing to The West Craven Eagles the last time they met, the SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. SouthWest Edgecombe came out on top in a nail-biter against West Craven on Friday and snuck past 31-28.

SouthWest Edgecombe was led to victory by Jhakari Lovely and Jalen Willoughby. Lovely rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown, while Willoughby rushed for 97 yards and two touchdowns.

Despite the loss, West Craven still got an impressive performance from Malik Brown, who rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns. DJ Davis also helped with two touchdowns in total.

SouthWest Edgecombe's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for West Craven, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-3.
