Basketball Recap: Central Bobcats vs. Sierra Linda Bulldogs
There's no place like home for the Central Bobcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 57-46 victory over Sierra Linda on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Central also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shakeira Mosley led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Mosley pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lia Sims, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds.
Despite the loss, Sierra Linda saw an underclassman step up: Shania Holmes scored 20 points. Kalea Jackson was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Central is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-14 record this season. As for Sierra Linda, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-22.
Central will be playing at home against the Coyotes at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Arizona (Centennial is ranked 179th, while the Bobcats are ranked 200th). As for Sierra Linda, they will head out on the road to square off against the Rattlers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
