Recap: Liberal Redskins vs. Holcomb Longhorns
After a string of three wins, the Liberal Redskins's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They suffered a rough 57-37 defeat at the hands of Holcomb. Liberal lost against Holcomb in their previous head to head back in December of 2020, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 59-46 score last time.
Several Redskins players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was J. Brooks Kappelmann, who scored 10 points. The contest was Brooks Kappelmann's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Chamberlain, who scored 7 points.
Liberal's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Holcomb, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberal will face off against South at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Holcomb, they will head out on the road to face off against Colby at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
