Softball Game Preview: Nashua South Purple Panthers vs. Manchester Central Little Green

For the second straight game, Nashua South will face off against Manchester Central. The Purple Panthers will be playing at home against the Little Green at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Nashua South turned things around against Manchester Central on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Little Green.

Cate Marvin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brooke Berger, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicki Gates, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Nashua South's win bumped their record up to 6-13-1. As for Manchester Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.
