Volleyball Recap: Whitman-Hanson Regional Wins Going Away Against Plymouth North

Whitman-Hanson Regional won the last time they faced Plymouth North and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Eagles.

Whitman-Hanson Regional never let Plymouth North on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, 25-19.

Brooke Steele paced Whitman-Hanson Regional's offense, picking up 11 kills. Steele got some help from Leah Barnett and her 15 assists. Barnett was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Plymouth North's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Madison Bumpus, who had 13 assists and five digs, and Kaylen Mahoney, who had three digs and two aces.

Whitman-Hanson Regional's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Plymouth North, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Whitman-Hanson Regional and Plymouth North could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings. The Panthers will square off against Oliver Ames at 4:45 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (190 vs. 1). Meanwhile, Plymouth North (ranked 238th) will meet Quincy (ranked 104th) at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
