Basketball Game Preview: Montgomery County Indians vs. Lexington Catholic Knights

The Montgomery County Indians will face off against the Lexington Catholic Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Montgomery County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Lexington Catholic likes a good challenge.

Last Sunday, Montgomery County sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 76-73 victory over Southwestern.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Montgomery County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrew Terry, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Terry is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Luke Fawns, who went 11 of 17 on his way to 23 points.

Meanwhile, Lexington Catholic came up short against Green County on Sunday and fell 76-66. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Dragons are ranked sixth).

Montgomery County now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Lexington Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
