Preview: Killingly Redmen vs. Lyman Memorial Bulldogs

The Killingly Redmen will be home for the holidays to greet the Lyman Memorial Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Saturday, Killingly ended up a good deal behind Woodstock Academy and lost 60-46.

Meanwhile, Lyman Memorial couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 56-42 to Tourtellotte.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kevin Botticello , who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jared Russo , who scored 13 points.

Killingly's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1. As for Lyman Memorial, their loss was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1.

Everything came up roses for Killingly against Lyman Memorial in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 64-31 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lyman Memorial's Jaiden Lopez, who scored 13 points. Now that he won't be playing on Monday, will it be that much easier for Killingly to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
