While White Castle's win against East Iberville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The White Castle Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-15 victory over the East Iberville Tigers on Thursday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Jordyn Martin was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and nine unearned) runs off only two hits. Martin was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Riyah Coleman and Kelsie Bracken did most of the damage at the plate: Coleman scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4, while Bracken scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-5. Justine Wilson was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
The victory got White Castle back to even at 2-2. As for East Iberville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Coincidentally, White Castle and East Iberville will both be playing St. John the next time they take the field. East Iberville will head out to face St. John at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while White Castle will play them later in the day, at 5:45 p.m.
