Softball Recap: Taft Eagles vs. Ridgewood Rebels        
        
		
            
 Taft put the finishing touches on their 17th blowout victory of the season  on Monday. They blew past the Ridgewood Rebels 17-1. Taft's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
  Michaela Power made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit (and only one walk). Power has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive pitching appearances. Power was even better at the plate,  firing off three  home runs and eight  RBI while going 3-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Joselyn Ulloa was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.  Elena Gonzalez was another key contributor,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
 Taft is  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven games,  which provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record  this season. As for Ridgewood, they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 7-16.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Taft will take on St. Laurence at 4:45  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Ridgewood, they will look to defend their home field  on Wednesday against Maine West at 4:30  p.m. Maine West will roll in looking for their  eighth straight  win, something Ridgewood surely won't give up without a fight.
