Baseball Recap: Round Lake Comes Up Short

Round Lake lost against Grant Community last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Panthers lost 16-1 to the Bulldogs. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Round Lake saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christopher Amaral, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Round Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Grant Community, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

Coming up, Round Lake will be playing in front of their home fans against Grayslake Central at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Grant Community, they will venture away from home to square off against Mundelein at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 3.2, the Mustangs 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
