Soccer Game Preview: Tazewell vs. Marion

Tazewell is 0-9-1 against Marion since May of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will square off against the Scarlet Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. Tazewell is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.2 goals per game this season.

Tazewell will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Virginia High on Thursday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Bearcats with a sharp 4-1 win. Justin Thomas had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Tazewell.

Meanwhile, Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Lebanon.

Tazewell's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Marion, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Tazewell might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Marion in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
