Softball Recap: Marysville Getchell Takes a Loss

Marysville Getchell was the 7-5 winner over Kamiak when they last played one another back in March of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Marysville Getchell fell 7-3 to Kamiak on Thursday. Marysville Getchell has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Elle Glover spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and six unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Lilyana Balgos was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaidyn Swanson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Marysville Getchell's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Kamiak, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marysville Getchell will host Everett at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Kamiak, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Jackson at 4:00 p.m. on the 14th.
