Volleyball Recap: Newton Local Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Newton Local was the 3-1 winner over Covington when they last played one another back in October of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians lost 3-0 to the Buccs on Thursday.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-12, 25-14.

Estie Rapp paced Newton Local's offense, picking up five kills. Rapp got some help from Aubrey Stetzel and her seven assists.

Covington can attribute much of their success to Ramse Vanderhorst, who had 13 digs and one assist. Vanderhorst has been hot, having posted 13 or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Newton Local's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Covington, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Newton Local didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Tri-Village on the 23rd. As for Covington, they will challenge Jackson Center at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
