Baseball Recap: Patrick Henry Makes It Five in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Patrick Henry, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Point Loma Pointers a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Pointers last Monday, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

Cody Cappelletti was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Cappelletti wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ian Brooke, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Patrick Henry pushed their record up to 10-6-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Point Loma, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4-1.

Patrick Henry will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pointers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
