Basketball Game Preview: Mount Pleasant Tigers vs. Anson Bearcats

Mount Pleasant is 2-7 against Anson since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Bearcats at 5:30 p.m. Anson took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mount Pleasant, who comes in off a win.

Mount Pleasant took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against South Stanly by a score of 58-46. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Rowdy Rebel Bulls: they've now won six in a row.

MacKenzie Clutter was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double with 34 points, nine boards, and 12 steals. The matchup was her sixth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Adelyn Leonard, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Anson came up short against Montgomery Central on Tuesday, falling 55-31.

Mount Pleasant's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Anson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Mount Pleasant strolled past Anson when the teams last played back in February of 2021 by a score of 46-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
