Basketball Recap: Amityville Memorial Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Amityville Memorial won the last time they faced Wyandanch and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Amityville Memorial Warriors enjoyed a cozy 44-26 victory over the Wyandanch Warriors. Amityville Memorial pushed the score to 36-12 by the end of the third, a deficit Wyandanch cut but never quite recovered from.

Wyandanch's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nevaeh Hewitt, who posted three points along with ten rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Shayna Severe, who put up seven points and six boards.

The win (which was Amityville Memorial's third in a row) raised their record to 4-7. As for Wyandanch, they dropped their record down to 1-11 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amityville Memorial will challenge Half Hollow Hills West at 5:00 p.m. on January 21st. As for Wyandanch, they will take on Hauppauge at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
