Valencia put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They never let the Canyon Cowboys get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 on Wednesday.

Valencia got a great performance from Steve Genovese as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Genovese has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Justin Gaisford, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Carter Lawson also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Valencia's win bumped their record up to 10-12-1. As for Canyon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 17 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.

Valencia wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-2 loss against Sylmar on the 25th. As for Canyon, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-2 victory against Providence on the 27th.
