Basketball Game Preview: Christian Community Warriors vs. Lake Ridge Academy Royals

The Christian Community Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Lake Ridge Academy Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Christian Community will be strutting in after a victory while Lake Ridge Academy will be coming in after a loss.

While Warriors fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They enjoyed a cozy 38-23 win over HEARTS for Jesus Christ on Tuesday.

Among those leading the charge was Julia Restivo, who went 9-for-17 on her way to 20 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in field goal percentage (53%). Another player making a difference was Joey Arnold, who posted four points along with seven boards and four steals.

Meanwhile, Lake Ridge Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 37-31 to Andrews Osborne Academy. The Royals have struggled against the Phoenix recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Christian Community beat Lake Ridge Academy 37-27 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
