Basketball Recap: Claxton Comes Up Short

Claxton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 42-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tattnall County Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 445th, while the Warriors are ranked 200th).

Despite the loss, Claxton still got an impressive performance from Jayda Jordan, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 16 boards. Jordan is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last eight games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlaysia Burgess, who posted five points and 13 boards.

Claxton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Tattnall County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-7.

Claxton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-28 victory against Portal on the 27th. As for Tattnall County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-45 win against Appling County on the 27th.
