Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Franklin Academy). They strolled past the Gouverneur Wildcats with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 71-55. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 54-49 back in December of 2024.

It was another big night for Blake Hanna, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 boards. Another player making a difference was Brad Poupore, who went 7 of 15 en route to 14 points.

Despite the loss, Gouverneur still got an impressive performance from Raine Rumble, who posted 40 points. That was a full 72.7% of Gouverneur's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Franklin Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.1 points per game. As for Gouverneur, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9.

Franklin Academy has already played their next matchup (against Saranac), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Gouverneur will be playing in front of their home fans against Canton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
