Basketball Game Preview: Rogers Vikings vs. North Smithfield Northmen

The Rogers Vikings will challenge the North Smithfield Northmen at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rogers will be strutting in after a win while North Smithfield will be coming in after a loss.

Rogers is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: St. Raphael Academy, who was ranked 16th at the time (Rogers was ranked 20th). Rogers walked away with a 45-33 victory over St. Raphael Academy on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Vikings who have now won three matches in a row.

Meanwhile, North Smithfield suffered their biggest defeat since January 29, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 45-25 to East Providence. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Northmen's biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

This is the second loss in a row for North Smithfield and nudges their season record down to 12-8. As for Rogers, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
