After losing to Civic Memorial the last time they met, Marquette Catholic decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Explorers skirted past the Eagles 7-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Explorers.

Keller Jacobs was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Jacobs was also solid in the batter's box, earning two runs and one stolen base.

In other pitching news, Drew Zacha tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits.

Back at the plate, Will Fahnestock was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Marquette Catholic's record is now 11-5. As for Civic Memorial, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-8.

Coming up, Marquette Catholic will venture away from home to face off against Columbia at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Civic Memorial, they will host Roxana at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Shells' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
