Archbishop Mitty faced Saint Francis in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Monarchs walked away with a 3-1 win over the Lancers. The victory was familiar territory for the Monarchs, who have now won four contests in a row.

Archbishop Mitty had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 30-32, 25-20, 25-14, 25-15.

Archbishop Mitty's win bumped their record up to 24-3. As for Saint Francis, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-9.

Looking ahead, Archbishop Mitty will be playing at home against St. Ignatius College Preparatory at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Saint Francis, they will square off against Presentation at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lancers are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
