Baseball Recap: Reading's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

Reading had lost four games at home, but after bumping their record up to 4-5 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the North Adams-Jerome Rams as they made off with a 12-2 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rangers also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Keven Denison looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Reading is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-4 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Reid Westfall, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those RBI were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Peyton Green, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

As for North Adams-Jerome, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2. They were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the four games prior), but Reading's pitchers proved too tough.

On North Adams-Jerome's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaleb Hale, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Desman Lawless was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Reading has already played their next match (against Concord), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for North Adams-Jerome, they have also already played their next game, a 6-2 defeat against Britton Deerfield on the 12th.
