Softball Recap: Notre Dame (SO)'s Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Notre Dame (SO) hadn't done well against El Camino Real recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Notre Dame (SO) put the hurt on El Camino Real with a sharp 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Notre Dame (SO) let Charley Tapia and Nadia Ledon run wild. Tapia went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Ledon went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most RBI Ledon has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kelsey Luderer, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Notre Dame (SO) always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as El Camino Real only posted an OBP of .308.

The win was the sixth in a row for Notre Dame (SO), bringing their record up to 10-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for El Camino Real, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-6.

Notre Dame (SO) didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 19-0 win against Hamilton on the 21st. As for El Camino Real, they are taking a road trip to take on Simi Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. El Camino Real is facing Simi Valley at the right time seeing as Simi Valley is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
