Softball Recap: Bartlett Comes Up Short

Bartlett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Bremond Tigers, falling 16-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Bartlett saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marissa Brown, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. Brown has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Bartlett's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Bremond, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bartlett will venture away from home to take on Holland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bremond, they will head out to square off against Thorndale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thorndale's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Bremond's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
