Sierra Murray spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Sam Mitchell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Puyallup's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Rogers, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 11-1 and their overall record down to 17-2.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Puyallup hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .386.
