Volleyball Recap: Manti Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Manti unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the North Sevier Wolves by a score of 3-2. If the Templars were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Wolves when the teams met back in September of 2016, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Manti actually scored more points across those five sets (110-107), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 23-25, 26-24, 26-24, 15-12.

Addison Howell paced Manti's offense, picking up 17 kills. Howell got some help from Charlotte Chase and her 19 assists. Howell also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Paislee Clark, racking up four apiece.

Manti's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for North Sevier, they pushed their record up to 2-3 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manti will head out to face off against Cottonwood at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Sevier, they will venture away from home to challenge Panguitch at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
