            Baseball Recap: Dunkirk Marauders vs. Southwestern Trojans        
        
		
        
        
            The home team had won the previous seven meetings between Dunkirk and Southwestern, and Dunkirk kept the tradition alive. The Marauders came out on top against the Trojans by a score of  10-5  on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Marauders also won the last time the pair played  back in April of 2024.
 Greg Orcutt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out ten batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Henry Leone, who  went 1-for-4 with one  home run and four  RBI. Those  four  RBI gave  him a new career-high.  Gabe Valentine also deserves some recognition as  he  snagged his first  stolen base of the season.
Dunkirk's record now sits at 8-1. As for Southwestern, they dropped their record down to 3-4 with the  defeat, which was their fifth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
Dunkirk will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
