Football Recap: Manual Gets the Win

Manual was handed a 27-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Smoky Hill Buffaloes 21-18. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Thunderbolts have posted since October 5, 2024.

Smoky Hill lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sailor Roth, who picked up 110 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Another player making a difference was MJ Ranum, who threw for 196 yards and three TDs.

The win got Manual back to even at 1-1. As for Smoky Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Manual will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Overland at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Smoky Hill, they have already played their next match, a 42-0 loss against Chatfield on the 25th.
