Northwood picks up 14th straight win on the road

Recap: Northwood Chargers vs. Southeast Alamance Stallions

Make it 11 blowout wins for the Northwood Chargers this season. They blew past Southeast Alamance, posting a 74-36 victory on the road. Given Northwood's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while Southeast Alamance is ranked 368th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northwood got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Drake Powell out in front who scored 16 points along with nine assists and six rebounds. Chad Graves was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Jerry Sims and Davian Edwards certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Sims scored 21 points along with five steals, while Edwards scored ten points along with two steals. Sims is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played.

Southeast Alamance struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Northwood racked up 23 assists.

Northwood pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their 14th straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.14 points. As for Southeast Alamance, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Northwood will be playing in front of their home fans against Jordan-Matthews at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southeast Alamance, they will head out on the road to face off against North Moore at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
