Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Manogue Miners vs. Douglas Tigers

The Bishop Manogue Miners will venture away from home to square off against the Douglas Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Bishop Manogue is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Damonte Ranch just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 66-56 to the Mustangs.

Meanwhile, Douglas faced Reno in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. Douglas received a blow as they fell 50-34 to Reno. The Tigers have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Bishop Manogue will need focus on slowing down Noah Coyne, one of several Douglas players who made an impact when they last played. He posted four points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Tolbert, who put up six points.

Bishop Manogue's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-9. As for Douglas, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Bishop Manogue strolled past Douglas in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 55-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bishop Manogue since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
