Softball Recap: Richland Bombers vs. North Creek Jaguars
Richland faced North Creek in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bombers fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 6-5. The loss was the Bombers' first of the season.

Ali Evans was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
In other batting news, Payton Chacon was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Brooklynn Boyce was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
