Basketball Recap: Union Star Takes a Loss

Union Star was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] 56-21. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-9.

Lizzie Schlueter was her usual excellent self, going 12 of 18 en route to 27 points in addition to eight boards and four steals for East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax]. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Schlueter has scored at least a third of East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax]'s points. Azlynn Wiley also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Union Star's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax], the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-6 record.

Union Star wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-8 loss against Mound City on the 10th. As for East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax], they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-33 win against Essex on the 9th.
