Soccer Game Preview: North Johnston vs. Manteo

The North Johnston Panthers will square off against the Manteo Redskins on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

North Johnston is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Farmville Central get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for North Johnston considering their one-goal performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, Manteo had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 9-0 win. Manteo's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

They hit Northeastern with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kenzie Flynn (4), Abbi Calvio (2), Maribel Rivera Reyes (2), and Jordan Cobb.

North Johnston's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 47 goals over those eight games. As for Manteo, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.
