Soccer Game Preview: Worthington vs. Jordan

The Worthington Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Jordan Hubmen / Jaguars at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Worthington is headed into Saturday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Tri-City United [Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center]. That's two games in a row now that Worthington have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Jordan's offense. They came up short against Southwest Christian on Thursday, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Jordan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota soccer rankings (they are ranked 159th, while Southwest Christian are ranked 43rd).

Jordan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11-1. As for Worthington, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4-1.

Worthington took their win against Jordan when the teams last played back in September of 2016 by a conclusive 6-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
