Football Recap: Mauldin Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Mauldin played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Hillcrest Rams, falling 29-7. The Mavericks lost against the Rams in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 51-6 score last time.

Despite the loss, Mauldin still got an impressive performance from Reddick Langston, who rushed for 111 yards, and also threw for 94 yards and one TD.

Hillcrest was led to victory by Jackson Free and Trey ''Tbook'' Booker. Free threw for 194 yards and one touchdown, while ''Tbook'' Booker rushed for 70 yards and one score on only five carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 62 yards. Nydarrian Allen helped out on the ground, rushing for 83 yards.

Mauldin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Hillcrest, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
