Volleyball Recap: Mountain View Takes a Loss

Mountain View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Forge Christian Fury. If the Mountain Lions were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Fury when the teams met back in April of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Mountain View sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-17, 27-29, 31-29, 23-25, 15-11.

Jackson Jensen paced Mountain View's offense, picking up 14 kills. Jensen really made an impact as he also led the team in assists with 16. AJ Escalle controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Mountain View has already played their next contest (against Rocky Mountain Prep SMART), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Forge Christian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Mountain View at 5:00 p.m. on the 24th.
