River Islands had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Modesto Panthers by a score of 3-1.

The victory didn't come easy: Modesto scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, 17-25, 28-26.

Despite the loss, Modesto saw an underclassman step up: freshman Cesar Franco Ramirez had 27 digs and one assist. Those 27 digs gave Franco Ramirez a new career-high.

River Islands' win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Modesto, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-3.

River Islands wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Stagg on the 6th. As for Modesto, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Grace Davis on the 5th.
