Softball Recap: Berwyn/Cicero Morton's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Berwyn/Cicero Morton had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 6-7 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Hinsdale South Hornets by a score of 4-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since March 18th.

As for Hinsdale South, they dropped their record down to 3-15-1 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Hinsdale South's part, Hanna Crumpler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Lauren Bishop and Kayla Buckels-Meen did some serious damage despite the final result: Bishop went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Buckels-Meen went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Berwyn/Cicero Morton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 5-2 defeat against Leyden on the 28th. As for Hinsdale South, they have also already played their next contest, a 15-2 loss against Downers Grove South on the 28th.
