Volleyball Recap: Alice Starts off Right with Win over Woodsboro

Alice gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Woodsboro Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win. The Coyotes haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Alice never let Woodsboro on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 25-14.

Alice had a senior duo take command as Bailynn Villarreal had 23 digs and Nayeli Rodriguez had 23 assists and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Krista Garza, who had ten digs and one assist.

Woodsboro's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Alice will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ray at 6:00 p.m. As for Woodsboro, they will venture away from home to take on Incarnate Word Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
