Basketball Recap: Greer Middle College Comes Up Short

Greer Middle College was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell to the Greenville Tech Charter Warriors 36-31. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blazers of the 25-22 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Greenville Tech Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sophie Chasteen, who posted seven points, to go along with seven rebounds and four steals. Chasteen has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 19 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alacyea Killingsworth, who had 12 points and three steals.

Greer Middle College's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Greer Middle College will head out to square off against High Point Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenville Tech Charter, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-29 victory against Laurens Academy on the 9th.
