While Newton Local has struggled on the road with three straight losses , that wasn't the case on Thursday thanks to Mya Denlinger. The Indians put the hurt on the Preble Shawnee Arrows with a sharp 3-0 win thanks in part to Denlinger, who had 11 digs and four aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 12 games she's played.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Newton Local was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-15, 25-13.

Newton Local now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Preble Shawnee, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.
