Basketball Recap: Cherokee's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Grainger, Cherokee was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They secured a 43-38 W over the Volunteer Falcons. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 67-48 back in December of 2024.

Cherokee's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12. As for Volunteer, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Cherokee will square off against North Greene at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Greene knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Cherokee likes a good challenge. As for Volunteer, they are taking a road trip to take on University School at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
