It was a good run, but Welsh unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The result was an unpleasant reminder to them of the 5-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Welsh's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-7. As for Lafayette Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-8.

Meanwhile, Lafayette Christian Academy (ranked 69th) will meet Midland (ranked 262nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Welsh's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Lafayette Christian Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
